Obituary For Wylie Woodall

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Wylie Woodall on September 11th, 2024.

Wylie was born on January 1, 1953, in Gay, Georgia, to the late Charlie Henry and Lurlene
Riggins Woodall. He was the eldest of ten siblings. He attended McCrary Elementary School for
his primary education and continued his studies at Woodbury High School.

During his youth, Wylie developed a fondness for hunting and fishing. He acquired skills in
operating various types of heavy machinery but eventually transitioned to a career as a truck
driver, spending numerous years traveling across states. His enthusiasm for long-distance driving
was evident, as he often recounted tales of the diverse states he explored, including the challenges
posed by snow, ice, and mountainous terrains. Wylie had a passion for singing and dancing, took
pride in his appearance, and harbored a deep affection for his automobiles, which he maintained in
immaculate condition. His friends knew him by his nickname “Pine.”

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Edward Woodall and one
sister Mary Elizabeth Rosser (Travis).

He leaves to cherish his memories, four sons, Frederick Smith, Derrick Harris, Sheldon Jarvis and
Daryl Jarvis, one daughter, Shakeviera Vance and ten grandchildren. Five sisters, Mary Ann
Marshall (Robert), Charlie Mae Roberson (Terry), Annie Bennett (Jeffery), Wylene Lyons
(Leonard) and Geraldine Parks. Four brothers, Willie Henry Woodall, Frederick Woodall, Melvin
Woodall and Hubert Woodall (Chiquita). One aunt Sallie Mae Render and a host of nieces,
nephews and cousins.
