Obituary For Willie G. Bell

Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Willie G. Bell on March 26, 2017.

Funeral service is scheduled for Friday at 12:00 Noon at Red Oak Grove Baptist Church, in Gay Georgia.

On Sunday afternoon, March 26th, Willie George Bell transitioned to his Heavenly Home to be with the Lord.

“Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.” Matthew 25:21 (KJV)

George was the son of Mr.& Mrs. John Thomas (Lena Mae Gaston) Bell, Sr. George was born on November 23, 1942, in Meriwether County, Georgia. He was educated in the Meriwether County School System. He joined Red Oak Grove Baptist Church at an early age.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to the late Jonelle Cleveland on July 27, 1967.

George was employed at Tredegar Corporation a/k/a Bonnell Aluminum for 10 years. He retired from Delta Airlines with 27 years of service.

George loved his church. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Red Oak Grove Baptist Church. He served as a deacon. George loved his family dearly; he was a great husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. George (Willie Pearl) Gaston; brothers, Mr. John Thomas Bell, Jr. and Mr. Frank Norman Bell; brothers-in-law, Mr. Nathaniel Cleveland and Mr. Joseph Alexander, Jr.

George “Pop” leaves to cherish his memories: devoted and loving daughter, Reverend and Mrs. Julian (Vanessa) Warner; loving and devoted son, Mr. & Mrs. Donnie Bell; seven grandchildren, Mr. & Mrs. Germond (Jillian) Walton, Minister & Mrs. Larry (Alkina) Avery, Mr. & Mrs. Aldolphus Amey, Mr. & Mrs. Derrius Bell, Jawanna Bell, DeMarkus Bell, and Julian "Jay" Warner, Jr.; seven great grandchildren, Alivyah Walton, Al'Lexia Amey, Ezra Bell, Alexander Amey, Anilah Bell, Mathais Avery and Anslei Avery; sisters and brother: Mrs. Georgia Mae Brown, Mrs. Margie Alexander, Ms. Ruby Nell Bell, Mr. Maxie Bell, Ms. Melinda Sue Bell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Gladys Bell, Mr. & Mrs. James E. (Doris) Spear, Mrs. Vera Bussie Moore, Ms. Stephanie Bussie, Mr. & Mrs. Terry (Tonga) Reese; Mrs. Sophie Cleveland, Mr. Melvin Bussie, Mr. Willie E. Bussie, Jr., Mr. Willie James Bussie, Mr. & Mrs. Rayford Bussie; aunts and uncles, Mrs. Ruby Driver, Mr. Rufus Gaston, Mr. George Gaston, Jr.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
