Mr. William Allen Dodds Jr. affectionately known as "Blanket" by Jan was born December 1, 1939 to the late Mr. and Mrs. William Dodds, Sr. He transitioned June 30, 2016 at the Doctors Hospice in Fayetteville, Georgia.

Jr. was a graduate of Central High School and he attended West Georgia College. He was also in the Army for four years.

Jr. was employed by Georgia Powers Plant Yates of Newnan, Georgia for forty years where he served as a supervisor.

Jr. was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Shirley Hinton Dodds; one son, Christopher Dodds; father and mother-in-law, John and Margaret Hinton; three brother-in-laws, Horace Hinton, Adolf (Mary) Amey, and Tommy (Clara) Hinton.

He leaves to cherish his memories daughters, Berdennia Hill, Dawn Dodds, Jennifer Dodds, Caroline (Penny) and Darlene Dunlap; grandchildren, Brooke Hill, Jonathan Partridge, Christopher Gatson, Megan Stegall, Tony (Tiffany Moss) and Chrissy Dunlap; great grandchildren, Caylin King, Brylan and Brison Moss, Jamal and Jabri Dunlap; one brother, James (Barbara) Dodds; three brother-in-laws, James (Wanda) Hinton, Rawlins (Helen) Hinton, and Josh Hinton; dedicated friends, Artis McGuinty, Walter McCrary, Bee Herring, Willie Irvin Bailey, and Curtis Connally; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, July 9, 2016 1:00 p.m. Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church Lutherville, Georgia

INTERMENT: Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery

Visitation is Friday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.
