Obituary For Tommie Lee Wallace, Sr.

Family and friends will assemble at 6145 Water Oaks Drive, Austell, at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 18.

Tommie Lee Wallace, Sr. was born November 13, 1939 in Chambers County, Alabama to the late T. J. Wallace, Sr. and Annie Pearl Lipscomb Wallace. He was called home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Harbor Grace Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother - in - law, Mr. George Lee Booker.

Tommie attended school in Lanett and received his formal education from Lanier High School. Throughout his lifetime he held several bids of employment, some being the City of Atlanta and Rayloc. God gave Tommie a gift of hearing, visual, and physical touch of accessing and repairing cars of any make/model. Tommie was a natural mechanic. He later became an entrepreneur and was the Owner/Operator of Gulf, and Fina full service stations and co- owner of T&T Auto Repair and owner of Wallace Auto Repair Service for 30 years.

Tommie accepted Christ as his Personal Savior at an early age and was united with Galilee Baptist Church in Opelika, Ala. For the last fifteen years, he’s been an active member of the North Avenue Missionary Baptist Church in Atlanta, Ga ; where he was a member of the Adult Choir, Pastor Aide Ministry and the Benevolent Committee.

Previously being married to the late Mozell Wallace, to this union four children were born, Emily, Jeffrey, Tommie, Jr. and Alex Wallace. In his leisure, he was an avid golfer, frequent traveler of cruises, to the cabins, beaches and casinos. He loved watching the Atlanta Falcons, playing cards with family and friends, attending family reunions and hosting his annual Father’s Day barbecue. Tommie loved being with his family and close friends no matter the distance. He volunteered at the church when needed, and was always willing to help others with their car care.

Tommie leaves to cherish his wonderful memories: long time companion, Joyce Lewis of Atlanta, GA; four children; daughter, Emily Wallace –Lackey of Austell, GA; sons: Jeffrey L. Wallace, Sr. of Atlanta, GA, Tommie L. Wallace, Jr. (Mellanee) of Austell, GA, Alex C. Wallace of Atlanta, GA., and Valencia (Peaches) Cody; five grandchildren, Satorie D. Smith, Jeffrey L. Wallace, Jr., Laurian E. Lackey, Kelston P. Lackey and Myah L. Wallace; five great grandchildren, Deja E. Wallace, Jaden N. Wallace, Tahj O. Smith, Quintavious L. Dukes and Azaiah C. Smith; two sisters, Elizabeth (Amos) McCants and Fredonia W. Booker both of Decatur, GA; one brother, T.J. Wallace, Jr. of Atlanta, GA; seven aunts; two uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a plethora of friends.
