Obituary For Stewart Wimbish Jr.

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville GA, respectfully announces the passing of Stewart Wimbish Jr. on 9/1/2016.

Funeral Service is Monday Sept. 5th 12:00 noon at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in Gay GA. 5710 Mt. Carmel Rd.

Visitation is Sunday 11 AM to 6 PM at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.

Deacon Stewart Wimbish, Jr. known as “Buddy” was born May 11, 1948 to the late Stewart and Piney Wimbish in Meriwether County.

He departed this life Thursday, September 1, 2016 peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends. He joined Mt. Sinai Baptist Church at an early age. He attended McCrary Elementary School and graduated from Woodbury High School in 1966. He served in the military in Korea and afterward he attended Griffin Technical College. He was employed wit Delta Airlines and Peachtree Aircraft and retired from Kason Industry with 31 years of service.

He was preceded in death by brother, Theodore Atkinson; sisters, Christine Martin and Evelyn Jones.

He is survived by wife, Brenda Wimbish; one daughter, Chelsey Wimbish; one brother, Deacon Wimbish (Mattie); seven sisters, Mrs. Verdell Harvey, Mrs. Mary Sinkfield, Ruth Wise, Sarah Wimbish, Anne Wimbish, Elsie Godfrey (Robert), Kathy Kemp all of Atlanta, GA; a devoted father-in-law, Charlie Lee Render; one brother-in-law, Shirome Render (Catherine); sisters-in-law, Patricia Render, Betty Render, Ina Atkinson; God brother, Ralph Wilkes; special friend, John Amey; special cousin, Deacon Guy Pope; and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
