With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Sidney Brown Jr. on November 11th, 2021.

The visitation is Wednesday 11/17/2021 from 10 AM to 2 PM followed by the funeral service at 2 PM in the Sewell Mortuary Chapel.

On Thursday morning, November 11, 2021, Mr. Sidney Brown, Jr. left this earthly home and began his eternal rest.

Sidney was born October 4, 1950 to the late Sidney Brown, Sr. and Mazel Hinton Brown. He attended Greenville Consolidated High School and later began his career as a heavy duty equipment operator and truck driver.

He is preceded in death by one grandson, Casey Lewis Herndon; three brothers, Willie James Brown, Anthony Brown and Bernard Herring; two sisters, Girliee Slaton, Annie Bell Rosser; two aunts, Eva Rosser (Mr. Glenn Rosser), Lucile Hinton (Note); three uncles, John H. Hinton (Alice Pearl Hinton),Margieree Hinton, Matthews Hinton (Kate), Willie Bill Hinton; and one nephew, Larry Brown Jr. (Bill).

He leaves to cherish his memories: two sons and one daughter L. Herndon (Diana), Tony Herndon, Teneka Atkins (Reginald); thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also, left to cherish his memories are his six sisters and four brothers, Seles Louise Hardaway (Elder Daniel Hardaway), Jennie Mae Hines (Rev. Joseph E. Hines), Shirley Hussie (Arthur), Linda Slaton (Johnny), Loretta Stinson, Mary Rosser (Walter), R. B. Brown (Louise), Larry James Brown (Lola White), Willie Glenn Rosser (Wanda), Willie James Rosser (Harriett); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
