Rosa Delois Truitt Johnson, affectionately known as “Kitty” was born January 29, 1964 in Newnan, Georgia. She was the youngest child of the late Steve and Ivey Lonia Chaney Truitt.
Rosa was educated in the Coweta County School System. She accepted Christ and joined Wesley Chapel AME Church at the age of 9. She served in several roles including choir, usher and trustee. Cooking was her passion and she enjoyed showing love to others by cooking large meals. She had a contagious smile and enjoyed visiting, entertaining family and friends, playing games (truly a whiz @ cards) and Facebook.
Rosa worked at Bibb Manufacturing and Southern Mills for several years, but was most recently employed with the Newnan Times-Herald. She was married to Detrick Johnson of Newnan, Georgia. Growing in grace she shared that she had done more praying and bible study in the past two months than ever before.
Rosa transitioned from labor to reward at Piedmont Newnan Hospital on Sunday, August 16, 2020. She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Ivey Truitt as well as both paternal and maternal grandparents.
Rosa leaves to cherish her memory one brother, Steve B. Truitt of Newnan; two sisters, Louise Barnett (Albert) of Atlanta, GA and Alice (Ronnie) Houston of Whitesburg, GA; a devoted companion, Gene Buckhanna of Newnan, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
