Obituary For Pauline Brooks
With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Pauline Brooks on March 18th, 2019.
Funeral Service is March 23rd, 2019 2:00 pm at Greater Jehovah Baptist in Grantville Ga.
Visitation is 3/22/19 from 3 to 6 pm at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.
Mrs. Pauline Brooks was born on December 22, 1932 to her parents, late Mr. Sam Calhoun and Mrs. Ethylene (Russell) Calhoun in Newnan, Georgia. Also she was raised by her stepmother, late Mrs. Mattie Calhoun. She departed this life on Monday, March 18, 2019. She was a Godly and holy woman of God. She was a loving, faithful, devoted wife to her husband, Deacon Harvey Brooks, Sr. (They was married fifty-six years.) Also a Godly mother to their six children. Mr. Harvey Brooks, Sr. and Mrs. Pauline Brooks raised their children up in the fear and the admonition of the Lord. They both was soul-winners for Jesus Christ and helping others in need. They was souled out for Jesus Christ all their life together.
She was preceded in death by her Godly husband, Deacon Harvey Brooks, Sr., a faithful and loving, holy man of God. He took excellent care of his Godly wife. Also he loved his family dearly with all of his heart. She was also preceded in death by their three children, Mr. Eddie Brooks, Mr. Jerry Brooks and Miss Mary Brooks; one brother-in-law, Mr. Willie Howard Brooks (Mrs. Margaret Brooks); four sister-in-laws, Mrs. Inez Hodo (Mr. Eddie Hodo), Mrs. Johnnie Mae Steverson (Mr. Alvin Steverson), Mrs. Willie Mae Kirkland (Mr. J. D. Kirkland), Mrs. Alice Tootle (Mr. Greeley Tootle); one granddaughter, Mrs. Sherrick S. (Parks) Hines;
She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Mrs. Florine Parks (Mr. James David Parks, Sr.) of Luthersville, GA, Mr. Harvey Brooks, Jr. (Mrs. Tamu Brooks) of Jonesboro, GA, Mrs. Jennifer Glenn (Mr. Wade Glenn) of Newnan, GA; one brother, Mr. Anthony B. Calhoun (Mrs. Cynthia Calhoun of Newnan, GA; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; one step sister, Miss Mattie Pearl of Stone Mountain, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Special thanks to her caregivers during her illness: Pastor Patricia A. Arnold, Mrs. Mattie Bell Morris, and Mrs. Marilyn Harris.
