Obituary For Nellie Ferguson

K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester respectfully announces the passing of Nellie Ferguson on November 11th, 2017.

On Tuesday, November 21st, 2017, God dispatched his angels to the bedside of Nellie Rene Ferguson and called her home to eternal rest.

Nellie Rene Ferguson was born a fraternal twin with Sister Margaret Rene (Ferguson) Mitchell on March 1st, 1939 to the late Maude Lee Ferguson and late Eddie Crawl both of Shiloh, GA

Nellie’s early years of education started at the St. Paul Elementary School in Shiloh, GA proceeded on to Secondary school at Woodland Elementary, followed by Ruth Carter High School. She joined St. Paul CME Church at an early age and participated on the Usher Board where she served until her health failed her.

Nellie worked for Calloway (Milliken) Mills in Manchester, GA, Playtex Corporation and Dundee Mill both in Manchester, GA. She possessed a friendly and lovable personality. She was a strong and sensible woman with a no nonsense approach to life. Nellie’s candid humor made her enjoyable to be around. She also had a enormous love for children, even-though she only birth one child, she took time to care for all her nieces and nephews, and grandchildren as if they were her very own. Nellie enjoyed cooking, fishing, crocheting and a good laugh whenever she could get one in. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. ‘

Nellie was proceeded in death by her mother Maude Lee Ferguson, father Eddie Crawl, and her brother Willie Frank Ferguson. Nellie birth one child Veronica Rene Ferguson which also proceeded her in death. She leaves to cherish her dedicated fraternal twin sister Margaret Rene Mitchell, Shiloh, GA and Step-Sisters Doris Denson Manchester, GA; Maggie Louise Crawl, Martha Crawl both of Atlanta, GA ; and Susanne Choates (Larry) of Alexanderia, VA.

She leaves two granddaughter Ashley Ferrell, and Aliyah Ferrell both of Fairburn, GA. A dedicated son in law Kevin N. Ferrell Fairburn, GA. And a host of special nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
