Obituary For Myrtis D. Parks

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Myrtis D. Parks on February 27th, 2020.

Funeral Service is scheduled for March 6th, 2020, 1:00 PM at Springfield Baptist Church in Greenville Ga.

Generous, kind hearted, dependable, firm in her beliefs and a jack of all trades Myrtis was a great daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend anyone could ever have Those of us who knew her as a family member or friend recognized these qualities in her She was firm in her opinions, decisive, and believed in “doing things her way Myrtis Denise Parks was born on October 26 1957 in Meriwether County to the late Calvin Parks Sr and Bernice Walton Parks On Thursday, February 27 2020 our heavenly father came and welcomed his angel home Her father, Calvin Parks Sr and her sister, Carolyn Curry, preceded her in death

At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Springfield Missionary Baptist Church She had a passion for cooking and baking She displayed her talents by catering events throughout the community

She was employed by Callaway Gardens, Mead, and the Meriwether County School System from which she retired

She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and caring son Maurice Parks, mother, Bernice Parks, three sisters Linda Whatley, Elaine Williams, and Robin Strozier, and one brother Calvin Parks Jr ..( She leaves a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins In addition, she leaves to cherish four special people who were dear to her heart Donyetta Ferguson, Mildred Parham, Emma Milner and Johnny Bray

    Ms. Myrtis you will truely be missed by many. You became my second Mother when we were at Greenville Head Start years ago and even when we left there we kept in touch for many years forming a very close relationship. I am sorry that I didn't know you were ill and I didn't get to visit you to tell you goodbye. Sending my condolences to the family. She was truely a Superwoman.
