Obituary For Maynard Jackson

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Maynard Jackson on March 30th, 2019.

Funeral Service is Saturday 4/6/19, 1:00 pm at Rocky Mount Bethel Baptist Church in Luthersville Ga.

Visitation is Friday 4/5/19 from 4-6 pm at Sewell Mortuary

Maynard Jackson entered this world on May 20, 1952 to the late Clarence and Opie Lee Jackson. He grew up and was educated in Meriwether County Georgia. He joined Rocky Mt. Bethel Baptist Church at an early age. He was very active in the church until God called him home on March 30, 2019.

He was married twice. From those marriages he had three children and one stepdaughter: Rodney Jackson, Kanesha Reese, Maynica Jackson and Maynario Jackson. Maynard worked a host of jobs until he was hired by General Motors. He worked there for 32 years before retiring in June 2006. He never met a stranger and was a GOOD MAN who was loved by all.

Maynard will always be loved, cherished, and remembered by: exwife Shirley Reese; children, Rodney Jackson, Kanesha Reese, Maynica Jackson and Maynario Jackson; grandchildren, Kennedy Johnson, Jaykhia William, and Kristopher Jackson; siblings, Clarence (Carrie) Jackson, Willie James (Charlie Mae) Jackson, Virginia Jackson, Lewis (Jacque’) Jackson, Rev. Lowinston (Gwendolyn) Jackson, Willie Frenk (Zeffer) Jackson, Regina Jackson, Hazel Nalls, Allen (Hazel) Jackson, Melissa Banks. He was preceded by his parents, Clarence (Opie Lee) Jackson; siblings, Iona Taylor, Lawrence, Levi and Rufus Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends,
