Obituaries

Mrs. Mary Pearl Cox was born on December 8, 1938 to the late Johnnie Kidd and Savannah Tucker Kidd. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Norman Cox, Sr. and to this union one daughter and three sons was born, one son preceded her in death.

Mary Pearl lived in Meriwether County all her life. She joined Fellowship Baptist Church at an early age, where she served on the Mother Board. She loved church and when her health got bad, she started having prayer meetings at her home.

Mary Pearl was a loving and caring person. She loved her family and everyone she met. Her occupation most of her life was cooking in restaurants.

She peacefully departed this life on August 6, 2015 at Newnan Piedmont Hospital amongst her family.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories: one daughter, Mr. & Mrs. Lennell Bray (Mary) of Mountville, GA; two sons, Mr. Jimmy Cox (Peanut) of Luthersville, GA, Mr. & Mrs. Glenn Cox (Crystal) of LaGrange, GA; two special granddaughters, LaSandra Grier, Marquita Jimenez; fourteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Alma Kidd of Newnan, GA, Mr. & Mrs. William Reeves (Rosa Mae) of Greenville, GA; two brothers, Mr. Johnnie Lee Kidd of Greenville, GA; Mr. & Mrs. Bennie Kidd (Corene) of Atlanta, GA; two God sisters, Mrs. Louise G. Bussey, Mrs. Christine Huff; two God daughters, Mattie L. Robinson, Wynese Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
