Obituary For Marion Keith
With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Marion Keith on July 21st, 2022.
Funeral service will be Saturday, July 30th, 2 PM at Faith Chapel Holiness Church 100 Holiness Church Rd Gay, Ga.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 PM on Friday the 29th at Sewell Mortuary.
Mr. Marion Keith was born July 12, 1953, in Meriwether County, to the late Mrs. Rosa Lee (Keith) Hood and the late Elder Marvin Neal, Sr. He was raised by his mother and Mr. John Willis Hood, since the age of four, along with nine siblings. Marion grew up in Gay, GA and was educated in the Meriwether County Schools system. He was a devoted and hardworking husband and father who loved to cook, bake (he made the BEST bread pudding!) and take his family to church. He loved spending time with his family.
Marion was a dedicated and strong man of faith who, during his early adulthood, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Faith Chapel Holiness Church. Although he was known to be a quiet and reserved person, he was often a lead voice for the Faith Chapel Holiness Church choir; his favorite song to lead was “I Don’t Wanna Go to Hell”. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Piedmont Fayette Hospital, the Lord called Marion to his heavenly home for rest. He will surely be missed by his family and everyone that knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his daddy, John Willis Hood, Sr. of Gay, GA; his loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Mary L. (Gates) Keith of Hampton, GA; four children, Vinnie L. Gates of Manchester, GA; Calvin B. Gates (Leilanie) of Hampton, GA; Beatrice M. Slaton of Gay, GA; and Lakesha S. Keith of Gay, GA; eight grandchildren, Quadarius V. Ferguson; Martavious B. Gates; Zeavakerius J. Slaton; Xavier R. Slaton; Quintavious V. Ferguson; Calvin D. Gates; Marcus M. Santiago; and Khaniyah J. Keith; one great grandchild, Carlos R.
