Obituary For Lillie P. Burston

Sewell Mortuary in Grantville, respectfully announces the passing of Lillie P. Burston on 11/27/2016.

Funeral Service is scheduled at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Luthersville Ga, on 12/01/2016, at 1:00 PM.

Lillie Pearl Ward Burston was born August 26, 1943 in Coweta County. She was the daughter of the late Harrison Ward, Sr. and the late Alma Lillie Ward.

She joined Holly Springs Baptist Church at an early age. Later she joined Resurrection Baptist Church in Newnan, Georgia under Pastor Phillip Carr's leadership. She finished Central High School in Newnan, Georgia. She was an active member of Grantville Prayer Band #7. She served as a board member on the Newnan Housing Authority.

She was a well groomed meticulous clean person in every aspect. Lillie was an outgoing, caring, kind, joyful and friendly person with a beautiful smile that warms your heart. She loved God, her children, her family and people. She was admired and loved by many. She loved reading her bible, spending alone time with God and going to church. She loved working crossword puzzles and reading poems. Lillie also had a passion for gardening of plants, flowers and vegetables. Her first love was cooking which started at an early age and she was an expert at it. She was known for her "Sweet Potato Juicy Pie". You could not get enough of it and her delicious home cooked meals. She made sure that you had plenty to eat and she always made you feel welcomed.

She was married to the late Robert Eugene Burston (Bob) for 33 year.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harrison Ward Jr. and Roy David Lee Ward; and a granddaughter, Tiffany Delain Snead.

She leaves to cherish in her memory two loving daughters, Kathy (Jeffery) Snead and Precilla Evonne Burston; two sons, DuWayne (Phyllis) Ward and Barron (Angela) Burston; eight grandchildren, Tomeka Strickland, Barron Burston, Jr., Lamar (Adnouse) Ward, Tineshia Burston, Natasha Ward, Danielle Snead, and Tierell Burston; four great grandchildren, Arielle Burston, Jaden Burston, Ava Burston and Lamar Melchezch Ward; three brothers, Edmund (Mattie) Ward, Sr., Curtis Lee Ward, and Joseph Ward; three sisters, Jannie Anderson, Dora Ward Rutledge (Danny) and Canera Ward; mother-in-law, Aretha Burston; a host of sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; a special niece, Josette Whatley and a special dear friend, Betty (Peggy) Bilal.

INTERMENT: Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery
