Obituary For Lewis Rush

K K Sewell Funeral Home respectfully announces the passing of Mr. Lewis Rush on April 17th, 2017.

Funeral is Saturday at 12:00 noon at Pilgram Rest Baptist Church in Manchester GA.

INTERMENT: Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery

Mr. Lewis (Spooky) Rush was born August 28, 1941 in Meriwether County Georgia to the late J. C. and Bessie Mae Rush.

He departed his life and was called home to be with the lord on April 17, 2017 at the Warm Spring Nursing Home.

A few ears ago Spooky dedicated his life to God and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior. He joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and received Baptism in Warm Springs, Georgia.

Spooky jobs included farming, construction, laborer, assembly and transport services throughout Georgia.

He was a man of strong will and determination and full of jokes. He loved his friends in Woodbury and the Cole.

Spooky enjoyed living life to its fullest. He also enjoyed hanging out at the ER at Warm Springs Memorial Hospital where he made the staff prepare hot coffee so that he could sit up all night long and make them laugh. He was an awesome uncle; always sharing with his nephews outlandish stories of “slining the cap” before entering the house.

Spooky had many friends. He loved people and people in return loved him.

He leaves to cherish these memories; his devoted sisters, Elizabeth Rush, Irene (Wesley) Hunt and Annie M. Adams, all of Manchester, GA; He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Mr. J. C. (Bubba) Rush, Mr. Benny Rush and Sister, Mrs. Bessie Mae Johnson. He also leaves his memories two great aunts, Mrs. Jimmie L. Barnes and Mrs. Ellen Weaver of Columbus, GA; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.
