Obituary For Leslie Denise Smith

LESLIE Denise Smith died at VAB hospital in Birmingham, Alabama on Friday, July 22nd at the age of 55.

LESLIE is survived by her husband Phillip Ray, Children Robert Ray Smith, Ashley (Ken) Lutz & Michael Ray, granddaughter Harper Lutz, siblings Audrey Tramber, Sue Atkins, Cheryl Smith, Robert Smith, Wes Smith and many nieces & nephews she preceded in death by her parents Robert E. Smith and Dolores W. Smith.

LESLIE was born on July 4th, 1961 in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was a very open hearted person. All of her friends instantly became family. If we were to continue her list of family members that list would go on and on. She was always so welcoming of everyone.

LESLIE was a devoted mother to Robert. He was her entire world. She was 41 when she had Robert. She didn’t even know she could have children. This made their bond that more special.

LESLIE was taught by her father to always root for the underdog. That is what she loved about being a warehouse Supervisor. She could help train and motivate an employee to obtain a position they never thought possible.

LESLIE will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all that knew her.

Funeral Service is scheduled for Friday July, 29th at 3pm at ML Middlebrooks Memorial Chapel at 220 Charlie Patterson Rd. Grantville, Georgia 30220

Leslie my friend I don't know where to begin we had so many adventures over so many years. We went through a lot togetherAnd you were always the one lifting me up making me feel better you were my very best friend. I have no words to explain how I feel I just found out that you passed away. I am so sorry about the last 3 years 4 years have not keeping in touch over something silly. I could go on and on about funny stories about us we had so much fun and we also went through some tragedies together. I've learned a great lesson, Don't let small things get in the way or silly things get in the way of friendship because we're not here that long. I love how you love your son and I also loved him. You were always smiling so proud of him and so happy that you had found Phil. I'm so sorry about not getting in touch with you just because of something silly I love you very much Leslie and we were never just friends you always called me family!!!!! Heaven has received a beautiful new angel!!!!!

I only just heard, and my heart broke. I remember the day we met fondly. She was a new supervisor learning the ropes and I an associate showing her what we do in our area. She was truly the essence of light to me. I felt very safe and comforted in her presence. We were both blessed and cursed to have an outlook on life that most never see. I remember her telling me not to take any you know what because I was an amazing and beautiful person who should demand nothing but the upmost respect from people. I love you Leslie, your light was too bright for this world.

I seemed to click with Leslie the very first time we spoke. We would never have survived peak season at .com without her. She was a true team player. I never worried about "temps" as long as Leslie was there as she was a great inspiration and leader to everyone. She made us all "one" team together. She took on any and all challenges... head on. But that's no surprise as she was a strong individual and a wonderful person. She will be missed by many. It's no secret she adored her son. A blessing we had in common was having only one son and starting late. I pray you all will find strength in knowing she is resting in peace and will be with you again one day. Till then, there's no doubt she'll be watching. My deepest sympathies.
