Obituary For Lawrence Bernard Rush Sr.

Sewell Mortuary respectfully announces the passing of Lawrence Rush on 11/8/2016.

Funeral service is Saturday November 11/12/2016, at 11:00AM at Purified Living Ministries 11 Fisher St, Newnan, GA 30263.

Visitation is Friday from 12 to 6PM, at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville GA.

INTERMENT: Eastview Cemetery Newnan, Georgia

Lawrence Bernard Rush, Sr., age 68, resident of Newnan, Georgia, passed away peacefully amongst his family on November 08, 2016. He fought a courageous battle with cancer. Lawrence was born on December 11, 1947, he was the third of six children born to the late Landis Jerome Rush, Sr. and Josephine Lucille Whatley Rush. He is survived by his beloved wife Martha Jean Moss for over thirty years.

Lawrence affectionately known as "Paw Paw" loved working at the Tommie Thompson Senior Center. He also loved listening to all types of music, playing card games, laughing, joking, being with his family, having fun with friends and helping those that needed him the most.

Lawrence touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity, and maintained his trademark sense of humour all the way to the end.

Lawrence truly lived life to the fullest and will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers Landis Jr., Corliss, and his loving sister Cheryl Jane. He is survived by his beloved children, Marilyn Barner, Sonya (Ernest) Cousins, Jr. and Lawrence Bernard (Linda) Rush, Jr.; nine grandchildren and fifteen treasured great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; caring in-laws along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
