Deacon James Lewis Culpatrick was born on January 5, 1943 to the late Isiah and Opal Mae Culpatrick in Haralson, Georgia. James made his transition to Glory on Janury 10, 2015.

Deacon James Clupatrick gave his live to Christ at an early age at Piney Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and a member of the choir.

James retired from Beers Construction Company as a Foreman. He was a major contributor in the building of some of Atlanta's most notable landmarks, including Six Flags Over Georgia, Sundial Restaurant, and the Atlanta Medical Center (formerly South Fulton Hospital).

In June of 1963, James married Gladys Culpatrick and to this union was born a child, June Culpatrick-Wheeler.

In 1967, James married the late Mary Alice Culpatrick, resulting in four children from this union, Heather Culpatrick, Anthony Alexander, Kenneth Alexander and Janet Alexander-Houston.

James was a very energetic soul with and overwhelming and loving personality. He was lovingly called by his friends "Pepper". James had a generous heart and spread joy in every room he entered.

James was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Louise Martin; his younger brother, Nathaniel Culpatrick; and treasured niece, Teki Pope.

He leaves to cherish his loving memory, his children, June (Onetha) Culpatrick-Wheeler, Heather Culpatrick, Janet Alexander, Anthony Alexander, Kenneth (Kimberly) Alexander; his sisters, Margaret Pope, Barbara Ann Walker, Brenda (James) Culpatrick-Tinch, Opal (Darrell) Culpatrick-Tinch; one sister-in-law, Linda Culparick; two aunts, Daisy M. Harris, Florence Harris, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
