With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Hubert L Simmons on August 10th, 2022.

Graveside service will be on August 17th at 12 PM at Mt Calvary Baptist Church in Moreland Ga.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on August 16th, at Sewell Mortuary in Grantville.

Hubert “Red” Simmons was born on March 3, 1952 in Newnan Georgia to Roscoe Sr. and Ruby (Hill) Simmons. He was the youngest of three boys.

Hubert graduated from Newnan High in 1970. Hubert had a love for cooking and work as a cook for many years.

In 1977 Hubert formed a union with Ann Amey, and from that union they had a son, Antonius. Hubert was the father of six.

Hubert lived a full life and always made others laugh with his unique sense of humor. Hubert is preceded in death by Both parents Roscoe Sr and Ruby Simmons, and brother Grady Simmons.

He was called to his eternal home on Wednesday August 10, 2022. He is survived by his eldest brother Roscoe Simmons Jr. , six children Antonio Hollis, Antonius Simmons (Andrea), Kimberly Bohannon, Michael Hall, Tiffany High (Nate), and Tracey Ratliff; eleven Grandkids, Roderic Willis, Dewaun Mack, DeShawn Mack, Kierra Barnes, Shamar Barnes, Kymesha Flournoy, Aumiyah High, Antonius Simmons Jr, Jahmond High, Kamari Irving, Kayden Irving, bonus grandson Ahkem Johnson and Six great grandchildren.

In addition, he leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
