With humble respect, K. K. Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester announces the transition of Fred Woolfolk on November 27th, 2020.

There will be a Graveside Service on Saturday, December the 5th, at 1:00 PM, at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Shiloh, Ga.

Visitation will be Friday the 4th from 2 to 6 PM at K. K. Sewell Funeral Home.

Mr. Fred Woolfolk was born on November 15,1935 in Warm Springs, GA to the late Roneal Woolfolk and the late Eliza Woolfolk. Fred was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Jo Woolfolk and to that union one daughter was born. In June of 2016, Fred was united to Mrs. Mary Davis Woolfolk and to that union he gained bonus children and grandchildren that loved and cared for him dearly. On Friday November 27, 2020, Fred peacefully received his wings with his beautiful wife by his side at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA.

He accepted Christ at an early age and he was a devout Christian. He joined the Shiloh Missionary Baptist church as a young teen. Upon migrating to Chicago, Illinois, he moved his membership to Mt. Sinai Baptist Church and in later years to United Baptist Church. During his younger years, he served as President of the usher board and later became a Deacon. Fred loved the Lord and enjoyed serving in God’s house in any capacity. Upon retiring from American Airlines in Chicago, IL, he moved to Warm Springs, GA and returned to his home church of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. He served tirelessly and faithfully until his health failed.

Fred had a true passion for helping others in any way he could. Upon retiring and moving back to Warm Springs, GA, Fred was determined to serve his community. In October 2004, he was appointed to fill an outgoing member's seat on the local Warm Springs council. He then went on to become the first African American to be an elected official on the Warm Springs City Council. He served as an Elected Official/Mayor Pro Tem for 12 years and officially retired in 2018.

Fred leaves beautiful memories to be cherished by his loving and devoted wife Mary Davis Woolfolk, one daughter, Debbie Brooks Anderson (Mark) of Broadview, IL; one granddaughter, Erica Brooks of Woodridge, IL; two greatgrandchildren, London Morris and Landen Morris of Woodridge, IL; one bonus son, Johnny Harris Sr. (Cynthia) of Stone Mountain, GA; two bonus daughters Demetrius Smith of Decatur, GA and Gerri Yvette Harris of Lithonia, GA; six bonus grandchildren; 6 bonus great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Vivian Crawl, Doris Worthen (Charlie) and Judy Johnson (Alvin) all of Shiloh, GA; Kimberly Moore, Gladys Woolfolk, Wanda VanHorn (William), and Tracye Mathis all of Detroit, MI; four brothers Marvin Woolfolk (Margie) of Atlanta, GA; Albert Lewis (Diane), Ernest Lewis (Agnes), and Carl Woolfolk (Karen) all of Detroit, MI; one sister-in-law Mildred Tucker of Decatur, GA; two God children, Valerie Clark Lismon and Venus Moore-Jennings and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Woolfolk.
