Sewell Mortuary in Grantville respectfully announces the passing of Evelyn Richardson on May 18th, 2017.

Evelyn Leslie Richardson was born January 30, 1938 in Chipley, Georgia, Troup County to the late Bluefus and Mary Lou Leslie.

After some years of education at Grantville she married the late Arthur ‘Nig’ Richardson. To this union one son was born. They lived together in Pine Mountain Georgia where she was a member of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. In later years she united with Summerhill Missionary Baptist Church.

Evelyn loved fishing with her sisters and brother. She was an avid sports fan. She played basketball in Troup Country and Grantville Brown High School.

She rarely missed an opportunity to do what she could for any family member and friend. Evelyn’s family, especially her nieces and nephews will miss her fun- loving ways and kindheartedness.

She was preceded in death by her parents Blue and Mary Lou Leslie, her husband, Arthur Richardson, a brother Adolphus Leslie.

She leaves to mourn her memories her son Gary Richardson (Yetta), three grandchildren (Shamon, Brantley, and Iris). She had four great grandchildren. She also leaves one brother, Haywood Leslie(Pearl), 2 sisters, Minnie Kate Houston and Helen Cavanaugh (David). She leaves 3 aunts (Jeanette Brooks, Cornelius Culpepper, and Rosslyn Hardy. One brother-in-law Frank Richardson and 2 sisters in law (Sallie Pearl Hand and Arlean Leslie). She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews and near and far.
