Edward “Ed” Harold Walker was born to late Homer Lee Walker and Gladys Willis Walker Williams on January 28, 1964 in Woodbury, GA. In his early years Ed was very energetic and adventurous. He enjoyed playing sports, riding his bike and playing with his siblings. He attended and was baptized at Concord C.M.E. Church in Woodbury, GA. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1982. After high school he studied Cosmetology and Business Management at Griffin Technical College becoming a Master Barber. Ed worked in the airline industry for several years. This led to his passion of truck driving which he did for 30 plus years.
Edward was a devoted son, brother, father, uncle, husband and friend. His love for his family and friends was his greatest attribute. His smile was contagious and all the ladies loved him. He was very meticulous about his appearance. He was a very sharp dresser. Edward had a very active social life and was a joy to everybody he met.
Edward was preceded in death by his loving parents Homer Lee Walker and Gladys Willis Walker Williams. A supportive step father Jack Williams and two brothers Herbert Leon Walker and Curtis James Walker.
He leaves to cherish two amazing children Germaine Antrelle Mahone (Jonesboro, GA) and As’Shaunte Alliyah Walker (Morrow, GA). A devoted sister Helen Walker (Stockbridge, GA) and supportive brother Harvey Gregory Walker (Ellenwood, GA.) and loving siblings Emma (Cincinnati, OH), Homer Lee (Ann) (Fort Valley, GA), Mary Ann (Milton) (Lizella, GA), Tommy (Linda) (Tampa, FL), Henry (Connie) (, Karl (Manchester, GA) and Eddie James (Alvaton, GA). One uncle Rufus Willis (Jonesboro, GA). Two special nieces Denetrice Walker (Fairburn, GA) and Angel Moss (Urban) (Atlanta, GA) and three nephews Harvey Sangster (Fayetteville, NC), Christopher Wright (Jonesboro, GA) and Lysanias Williams (Covington, GA). A great niece and two great nephews. Special childhood and dedicated friends Bobby Slaton, Todd Trice and Kevin Lowe. A host of cousins, other family members and friends.
Edward departed his life on May 8, 2021 peacefully at his home and will be greatly missed.
