Obituary For Donte Long

With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Donte Long on Monday, December 6th, 2021.

The funeral service will be on December 14th, 11 AM at Sewell Mortuary Chapel.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on December 13th, 2021 at the mortuary.

The morning of December 6th 2021, The Lord whispered to Donte Jarel Long and he responded. He was born on May 3rd 1993 to Darris Long and Maaza Gibbs, in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. At an early age, Donte gave his life to God and was baptized.

Donte’s love was shared among his families, while growing up. Reading, PA, Newnan, GA and Charlotte, NC were some of the places he called home. He attended high school at Independence High School in Charlotte, NC and Newnan High School in GA, but graduated from Job Corps of PA .

Donte didn’t allow his life to just pass him by, he lived his life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his family, friends especially his siblings and all his nieces and nephews.

Donte was a young man of many names; Donnie, Taylor Gang, David Hasselhoff and Trap, just to name a few.

Donte leaves behind to cherish his memories; his mother Maaza Amey, his fathers Darris Long and Ricky Amey. His grandparents, Annette Gibbs, Geraldine Clayton and Julia (Thomas) Amey. Two of his grandfathers who both proceeded him in death, James “Jimmy” Long and Willie Andrew Gibbs. His siblings; Marcellus (Denise) Amey, Jasmine Herring, Joel Herring, Shakina Amey, Malik Long, Rashad Amey and Myon Long. His aunt; Damarka Turner and His uncles, Monte (Ayanna) Watson, Brandon Long, Rico (Cristy) Amey, Victor (Trina) Amey and Daniel Long. And one uncle who proceeded him in death Andrew “Drew”Gibbs.

And a host of loving cousins, nieces and nephews and aunts and uncles.
