When someone you love dies, for some, it's like a piece of you goes with them. For others it is a relief because they know they suffer no more. However, Jehovah God knows our deepest emotions. He understands that death is an enemy that we can't fight. That's why he promises that death will be swallowed up forever. (Isaiah 25:8). Also the Bible calls death the last enemy that will be brought to nothing (1 Corinthians 15:26). We also are promised a paradise here on earth where there is no more pain or sorrow and God himself will wipe every tear from our eyes. (Revelation 21:3,4). Lazarus our friend has fallen asleep but I am traveling there to awaken him. John 11:11. The Bible likens death as a deep sleep with the promise from our Lord Jesus Christ that there will be a resurrection right here on earth.

May your memories cause you to smile often in the difficult days ahead, until you meet again.
