Obituary For Charlie Hardnett

K K Sewell Funeral Home in Manchester respectfully announces the passing of Charlie Hardnett on June 30th, 2017.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, July 6, 2017 2:00 p.m. Concord Baptist Church 830 Chalybeate Road Woodland, Georgia 31836

INTERMENT: Concord Baptist Church Cemetery

Charlie Tyrone Hardnett, the son of the late Irene Hardnett and John Thomas Hardnett, Sr. of Woodland, Georgia was born December 23, 1954. Family, friends, and many others lovingly referred to him as “Lil Brother” and “Charlie Boy”. He was a kind-hearted man and was often the life of the party or family gatherings.

He attended Manchester High School and served in the United States Air Force before being honorably discharged in 1974. He was employed by the City of Woodland, GA in the Maintenance Department and was often seen around the city reading water meters.

One sister, Gwendolyn preceded him in death. He departed this life on Friday, June 30th, 2017 surrounded by family and friends.

He leaves to cherish his memory with love a devoted life partner of 21 years (you rarely saw one without the other) Elizabeth Thornton of Woodland, GA. One daughter, Cherizma Terry of Woodland, GA. One grandson, Lance Speed, Jr. of Woodland, GA. One brother John Thomas Hardnett, Sr. (Jolene) of Waverly Hall, GA. Two sisters: Greta D. Marshall and Pamela Woodall (Brian) of Woodland, GA. One aunt: Rubye Hardnett of Woodland, GA. One uncle: Melvin Hardnett, of Cleveland, OH. Five nieces: Kimwanna Hardnett of Atlanta, GA, Dominique Hardnett of Flint Hill, GA, Monica Marshall of Woodland, GA and Renarda (Damien) Marshall of Lagrange, GA, and Garnesha Harris of Austell, GA. Three Nephews: John D. Hardnett of Woodland GA, Tyrone Hardnett (Zenobia) of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Efferen V. Hardnett of Austell, GA. One devoted friend Jeffery “Nick” Leonard of Lagrange, GA.
