Obituary For Carrie Wimbush

Miss Carrie Wimbush, born January 5, 1942. Carrie was the fifth of the ten children born to her parents, Silas Wimbush Sr. and Ceola Nixon Wimbush. Carrie departed this life December 28, 2017 at 8:30 am. Carrie enjoyed life and her many friends. She loved dancing and singing. A singing group was formed between Carrie and friends, though it was short lived. Growing up her best friends were her sister Daisy and her brother Silas Jr., whom she called Chank. When visiting her at the nursing home the three would reminisce of the old days. They shared the funniest stories.

Carrie received her education in the Meriwether County School system. Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, was her home of fellowship where she joined at a young age. She was a faithful member of the senior choir. She loved and never tired of talking about God. It was her sudden illness at the age of 20 that no longer allowed her to continue with the choir.

Of all the accomplishments Carrie had, it was her one and only child, her daughter, Tereyon that made her life amazing. Until the day she took her last breath, she loved her so much. Carrie was thankful and overjoyed as well by her granddaughter Sherron Nicole. Both her daughter Tereyon Wimbush Mooreland and Sherron Nicole Wimbush preceded her in death.

Carrie enjoyed cooking and her cleaning was spotless. She was a very hard worker and gave it her best in whatever she did. The words humble, generous and caring best describe her character. She loved from the midst of her heart and would do anything she could when called upon or just saw the need.

Carrie was preceded in death by parents Silas Wimbush Sr. and Ceola Nixion Wimbush and three brothers Essex, Silas Jr. and Eddie B. Wimbush.

Left to cherish her precious memories are two brothers. George (Mozell) Wimbush, Senoia Ga., Paul Wimbush, College Parks Ga; four sisters Daisy Ola Harris, Catherleen Mays, Bertha (John) Amey and Julia Wimbush all Senoia Ga.

Carrie had an abundance of loving nieces and nephews, including grand and great whom loved her and she loved them. It excited her when they would visit. She always wanted to give us something.

Brenda Hunter, Denetrice Walker, Kimberly Harris and Cathy Mayner (Aunt Catherleen Uber driver), would often enlighten themselves with her company. They knew to show up with snacks, hair and body products, bright color clothing, and comfy shoes. Her sister Daisy was her supplier. A BIG BOX OF SNUFF. Nurse Jackie Render kept us on point as to her care.

She also leaves to cherish her memory the friends she made at Pathway and Pruitt Nursing Home.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Sunday, December 31, 2017 2:30 p.m. Mt. Sinai Baptist Church 5710 Mt. Carmel Road Gay, Georgia 30218
