Obituary For Bennie Frank Haynes
Bennie Frank Haynes or as he was more affectionately known as "Frank" was born October 17, 1945 to the blessed union of the late Mr. Simmie Haynes Jr. and Mrs. Florene Anthony Haynes in Meriwether County, Georgia.
Frank completed primary and secondary school in Meriwether County as well. At an early age he joined Mt. Venus Baptist Church, Gay, Georgia.
However, being the driven, ambitious young man that he grew to be, he needed to see more of this beautiful country and did it by working and traveling with CSX Railroad Company for more than thirty years before retiring in 2007.
On January 27, 1995, Frank wed the love of his life, Ms. Hazel Dell Owens and the two forged an unbreakable bond of love, courage and devotion.
On the early morning of Saturday, May 16, 2015, Frank let go of his aches, pains and burdens and went to rest in the welcoming arms of the Lord.
He leaves to cherish a loving devoted wife, Mrs. Hazel Dell Haynes of Woodbury, GA; five children from a previous union, Mrs. Rachel (Kenn) Derico of Stone Mountain, GA, Mr. Rory A. Haynes of Woodland, GA, Ms. Demetricia D. Floyd of Woodland, GA, Mr. Eric A. Haynes of Thomaston, GA and the late Mr. Kenyatta Haynes who preceded him in death, Brenda Slaton of Washington, D.C.; also five stepchildren, Mrs. Sonya (Jimmy) Lockhart of Fayetteville, GA, Mr. Cormos (Virginia) Owens of Woodbury, GA, Ms. Mica Owens of Hampon, GA, Mr. Marquez (Vickey) Owens of Jonesboro, GA, and Mr. Dominic (Lucinda) Owens of Atlanta, GA.
The legacy of Frank will live on in the hearts of his brothers and sisters, Mr. Joe (Judy) Haynes, Mrs. Annie D. Slaton, Mr. Curtis Haynes all of Woodbury, GA, Mrs. Margaret (Melvin) Sewell of Luthersville, GA, Mrs. Linda (Curtis) Harris of Gay, GA and Mrs. Angela (Willie) Dunn of Jacksonville, FL; one brother-in-law, Curtis (Cynthia) Owens; four sister-in-laws, Alma Brown of Union City, GA, Reba (Willie) Reeves of Alvaton, GA, Gloria Weaver of Greenville, GA, and Sally Parks of Griffin, GA.
He was a devoted grandfather of twenty-five grandchildren and two great grandchildren; a host of aunts,nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; one uncle, L. C. Anthony of Woodbury, GA; close friends, James Rolax of Woodland, GA and Tony Stevenson; All will miss him dearly and cherish his memory always.
Interment: Woodbury (Walker Cemetery)
