When I called him, his response was always "Hey Son, how are you doing?" and we would talk, catch up, and share memories. Mr. Nixon will surely be missed. I pray that God will comfort the family.

Andrew Nixon, who I affectionately refer to as "Uncle Andrew", was a good soul, a man who never met a stranger! I recall having ridden "shotgun" to Western Auto one early Saturday morning many years ago with Uncle Andrew and my father Frank Nixon to purchase lawn mowers. Typically, Saturday mornings was cereal and cartoons for me (my time), but on that Saturday, I chose to hang with the brothers. Little did I know that Uncle Andrew seemed to know more people than my father!!! That Saturday, I watched in utter amazement how those two shook more hands than any politician, really working the room. It was quite masterful, every gender and race seemed to flock to these two gentlemen!!! I mean everyone, literally!!! They offered kindness and advice to many people and spread some brotherly love. We remained there for a few hours, causing me to miss my favorite cartoons. At the end of the day, I learned that the two lawnmowers that the brothers purchased were sold to them with a "brotherly" discount. From that day on, I valued cartoons less and perfected a sincere handshake!!! Though he'll be greatly missed, I believe Heaven needed another expert greeter!!! Rest in peace Uncle Andrew!!!!
