INTERMENT: Eastview Cemetery 80 Milton Avenue Newnan, Georgia 30263

On August 20, 1925, Amagene Brewer joined the growing family of Mr. Robert Lee and Viola Brewer. Siblings included Myrtle; Leonard (Scoot); Hattie Maude (Tip); Robert; Mattie Lou; Willie (Smith); Grace; Ruth; C.S. (Buck) and Charlie. The family was raised in the Heard-Troup Community where they attended the Cannon Baptist Church and enjoyed the fellowship of a close-knit unit of family and friends.

As a young woman, Amagene married Fred Goode (Hoyt). Their union was blessed with three children, Ethyllene, Horace and Floyd Gene. The family affiliated with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Sargent, Georgia and the children grew and flourished. In later years, Amagene married Joe Mack Robertson. Their home was always filled with the neighborhood children, people who needed shelter for whatever reason, and with good meals and Christian kindness as demonstrated by "Mo". She was quite the fashionista, enjoying stylish clothes, hats and matching accessories. She loved wearing jewelry and fancy perfumes. Her trademark garment was a waist apron. She wore these all the time. Her pockets always contained treats and tissues and other handy items for making the day brighter for the small children who were always around her. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren thrived in her loving care. Her 91st Birthday Celebration was an event to behold with children everywhere and with her dancing and prancing around as she laughed and glowed in the presence of the family she loved so dearly. Truly the light of our lives has dimmed even though her transition was so sweet.

Cherished memories of this very special Mother will live forever in the hearts of her daughter, Ethyllene G. Watson; her son, Floyd Gene (Phyllis) Goode; and her daughter-in-law, Eleanor Goode. Grandchildren: Randy (Jill) White; Michael (Debra) Goode; Michelle (Herman) Brownlee; Lisa Gray; Gwen (Frederick) Daniel; Aundre (LaKesha) Goode and Lakeisha Goode. Eighteen Great-Grandchildren and twenty-eight Great-Great Grandchildren - all of whom she knew by name and loved heartily. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and children who affectionately grew up under the watchful care of Big Gene.

Amagene was ready for her transition home. She had a full and rich life and longed to go where her parents; all her siblings; her son, Horace Goode; husband, Joe Mack Robertson and her son-in-law, Willie James Watson had found eternal rest. She truly believed that her life's journey was complete and blessed beyond measure, and that When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation, and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim, My God, how great thou art!
