Obituary For Alma Cato
With humble respect, Sewell Mortuary in Grantville announces the transition of Alma Cato on July 22nd, 2022.
Graveside service will be July 30th, at 11 AM at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville Ga
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 PM on Friday the 29th, 2022, at Sewell Mortuary.
Alma Parham Cato began her journey of life on April 15, 1928, in Harris City, Georgia to the late Ozell Parham Sr. and Emma L. Parham.
Later in life she married Donald Jack Cato and moved to the Zion Hill Community. Her husband preceded her in death. She joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church and was a faithful member. She attended church regularly and giving God praise.
She worked with many families as a housekeeper and caregiver caring for their children for many years. She was not a woman of many words, but her smile would light up a room. She loved her chewing gum and sweet deserts and would often ask for it. The last few months she was a resident of Pruitt Health Greenville nursing home, Greenville, Georgia. Alma answered the master’s call on July 23, 2022, at WellStar Medical Center Lagrange, Georgia in addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brothers Mr. James Strozier and Dr. Joseph Parham.
Alma leaves to cherish her sweet memories her siblings Ozell Parham Jr., Marie McDennan, Carol Blockwood, Andrew Parham, Tim Holmes, Michael Parham; Two sisters-in-law Aritha Warner and Ruth Cato; Special nieces Joanne Weaver, Jamillah Strozier; Special cousin Latrella Robinson; A host of nephews, nieces, and cousins.
